Due to occurrence of flood and drought in the region, disaster preparedness is a major intervention of ASCS in the region. To mitigate the disaster situation in the region an emergency fund has been created with the community support. The objective of the fund is to organise the community during the time of crisis. As a result most of the members from different communities have started saving regularly so that during a crisis situation the coping mechanism is in place.

ASCS organises training workshop and provides them training on flood relief, formation of protection teams and about the techniques of first aid. Knowledge is being provided on how to bind bandages, remedy for snake bite case, remedy for sink case, remedy during delivery period etc. Flood relief and production team is made aware on how to protect two persons during disaster period.

Imparting knowledge on the ways to escape from disaster is an important intervention.
